Counselor Profile
Indhika is a former Associate Director of Admissions at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and McCourt School of Public Policy. She brings over a decade of multi-program admissions expertise to guiding IvyWise clients in far-ranging disciplines including: International Affairs, Public Policy, Data Analytics, Engineering, Public Health, Psychology, Architecture, and Journalism.
Throughout Indhika’s career she has taken on leadership roles in establishing new graduate programs; directing strategy for recruiting and admissions and reviewing and executing final decisions on thousands of applications. At The Walsh School of Foreign Service, she helped launch an international development graduate program – The Global Human Development Program. While directing admissions for the program’s inaugural cohorts, she established a robust admissions review process and managed academic advising and career counseling. At the McCourt School of Public Policy, Indhika oversaw admissions for five graduate programs, including the launch of the school’s data science graduate degree. She has also managed enrollment operations for a mobile-first MBA, designed a leadership program for college students interning in Washington, DC, and served on the board of a non-traditional public charter school. Currently, she reviews applications for the Presidential Leadership Scholars Program.
As a Graduate Admissions Counselor, Indhika helps applicants present compelling candidate narratives that weave together all application requirements. She views written components as foundational and uses a critical editing approach to ensure they are clearly organized and sharply articulated. As an Academic Advisor she is invested in strengths-based coaching, leadership development, reflective goal setting, and translating passions to pursuits. She balances semester-based planning of courses and co-curricular involvement with building technical and soft skills that strengthen resumes.
Indhika has a BA with Honors and a MA in Cultural and Social Anthropology from Stanford University, and a MA in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University. She also holds a TEFL Certificate and a Social Impact Storytelling Certificate from Georgetown University.
Indhika grew up in Colombo, Sri Lanka and Kampala, Uganda before moving to New York City at the age of 12. After 17 years in Washington, DC, she is currently based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In her free time, she enjoys reading contemporary fiction, taking care of stray animals, and traveling with her husband and daughter.
