Counselor Profile

Alecia is a former Assistant Director of Admissions at Duke University, College Counselor at a public high school, and Director of Enrollment Management at an independent school.

As an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Duke University, Alecia read international applications from students attending secondary schools in Canada, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, as well as US-based applications from students attending high schools in North Carolina, Florida, and Virginia. Alecia also evaluated candidates for the Office of Undergraduate Scholars and Fellows, and participated in the selection committees for the University Scholars Program and the Rubenstein Scholars Program.

Alecia has many years’ experience in working in the admissions and counseling fields. As a college counselor at a public high school, she helped students find their best-fit colleges. As Director of Enrollment Management at an independent school, Alecia guided students and their families through the school’s admissions process and chaired the school’s admissions committee.

Alecia counsels students using principles of honesty and transparency while working to demystify the college admissions process for families. She brings a warm and grounded energy to all of her sessions and enjoys getting to know families’ backgrounds and experiences to better guide them through this exciting yet complex process.

Alecia lives outside of Raleigh with her husband and son. In her free time, you can find her cooking plant-based recipes, hiking, and practicing her Hindi and Nepali with her multilingual family.
