Tyler, M.Ed.
As an IvyWise mentor, Tyler prioritizes the counselor’s advice and uses it to help her students develop strong educational habits and build confidence as they navigate the college admissions process. Tyler bridges the gap between counselor meetings, and provides extra support to help students meet the deadlines and goals set throughout the counseling process. Her mentorship process includes getting to know her students so she can tailor her time with them to best fit their needs and goals. Tyler focuses on being a positive resource for students as they learn and grow.
Tyler earned her B.S. from Vanderbilt University and her M.Ed. from the University of Texas at Arlington. Before joining IvyWise, Tyler taught in public schools for six years and has extensive experience in developing science curriculums — experience she uses to create resources that help IvyWise students in their academics and executive functioning skills development. During her time in the classroom, she prioritized creating strong relationships with her students and helping them build solid academic habits. She leverages her experience in working with students and their parents to help IvyWise families on their college admissions journeys.
Tyler’s teaching experience informs her mentorship style: she encourages self-efficacy in her students and empowers them to take an active role in their future. Her primary goal when working with IvyWise students is to provide them with the support and resources they need to succeed in high school and beyond.
When she’s not working, Tyler enjoys watching hockey, reading novels, and spending time with her pets.
