Jason is a math and science tutor and test prep expert with several years of private and group tutoring experience. He has a passion for STEM tutoring and has also served as a teaching assistant in statistics courses at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Jason completed both his B.S. from Wharton with a concentration in statistics and his M.A. in mathematics from Penn in three years. At Penn, he worked with professors whose example changed the way he approached learning and teaching. Currently, he is continuing his passion for research and teaching at Columbia University as a Ph.D. student in the department of statistics.
Jason has worked with students of all ages and learning abilities and believes that it is important to teach with enthusiasm so that the students actually enjoy learning instead of seeing it as a chore. He believes it’s important to interact with students while solving a problem or explaining a concept so that they can practice explaining the concepts back to him. This ensures both the student and tutor are on the same page and that the student is demonstrating their grasp of certain concepts. Jason takes a personalized approach to his tutoring and test prep, meeting students where they are and working with them to accomplish their academic goals.
In his spare time, Jason enjoys playing the violin at nursing homes for the elderly. He also spends time with a group of musicians encouraging elementary-aged students around the world to learn about different instruments.
