Tutor Profile
Vania specializes in preparation for the SAT, ACT, and AP exams in Calculus (AB/BC), Statistics, Physics (I/II/C), Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science.
Vania is an avid tutor who has been helping students challenge and conquer standardized exams and academic courses for the past ten years. A mechanical engineer by training, Vania highly values the ability to critically reason from foundational principles, and she helps her students cultivate this mindset to succeed on both short term and cumulative exams.
Vania graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, double majoring in mechanical engineering (concentration in medical devices; pre-med) and music. It was during this time that she developed her love of teaching. Vania was an active peer tutor on campus and also involved with educational startups in the Boston-Cambridge area, working with students from all over the world in both in-person and online classrooms.
Since then, Vania has continued working with both domestic and international students, focusing on test prep for the SAT, ACT, and AP STEM exams. As a tutor, she brings not only her subject matter expertise but also her adaptability. From students preemptively studying during the summer to students concentrating for an upcoming exam, Vania finds it rewarding to help students maximize their success through a personalized learning plan. She firmly believes that a good tutor can make the difference between barely keeping up in a class to thriving and excelling in measurable ways.
When Vania is not working with students, she can usually be found working on surgical robots, tinkering with instruments, swimming laps, or enjoying a nice discussion with friends.
